Why is the problem of heart blockages increasing?
The doctor explained that heart blockages are becoming a common problem today. Such cases are steadily and rapidly increasing in our country. Common causes include high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, and poor lifestyle habits. Additionally, constant sitting, prioritizing rest, not getting adequate and deep sleep, avoiding physical exertion, eating fried foods, ignoring high cholesterol, and stressing over even the smallest things are also important factors.
Symptoms of Heart Blockage
Concerning heart blockage, it can be identified by symptoms such as heaviness in the chest, pressure, pain, shoulder and jaw pain, difficulty breathing, and excessive sweating. If you have high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, or a smoking habit, you should definitely get the tests recommended by your doctor, as all of these are risk factors for heart disease. Numerous modern tests and treatments are available today for heart disease.
Many Options for Treating Blockages
In the case of heart blockages, treatment with a balloon or a stent is quite simple and effective. If the blockage is severe or in the main artery, bypass surgery is recommended. In such cases, the decision regarding surgery is made based on an angiography test. Today, valves can be replaced through the leg without surgery, and patients can be discharged within 24 to 48 hours.
Keep these things in mind for a healthy heart.
In such a situation, if any symptoms of heart disease appear, consult a doctor immediately. Furthermore, if someone has a family history of heart disease, they should continue to undergo related tests after the age of 25. A little understanding can prevent heart attacks and cardiac arrest. Everyone should get BP, sugar, and cholesterol checked as per their doctor's advice, along with Echocardiography, TMT, ECG, and CT angiography.
Tobacco and smoking should be avoided. These can narrow the arteries, which can be fatal. Pregnant women need to be vigilant about their blood pressure after the 25th week. If they experience any problems, they should get an Echocardiogram done. Overall, be vigilant, aware, and improve your lifestyle.
