Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The managing director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL), S Krishna Chaitanya, conducted a two-day site inspection and review meeting on Thursday to accelerate the progress of the Indore Metro project.
During his visit, he clearly instructed the teams that ongoing the monsoon season must not delay the construction and technical work at the depot.
“Work must continue uninterrupted so that upcoming trial runs and future passenger operations face no delays,” he said.
Chaitanya inspected the Gandhi Nagar Metro Depot, where he reviewed the depot’s operational framework, technical setup, train maintenance facilities, control room, training building, inspection bays and repair bays. He also inspected the 15th metro train (rolling stock) that recently arrived at the depot.
Indore Metro Magic Fading; To Now Run Just 6 Hours A DayThe MD carried out a trolley trial along the 11-kilometre Priority Corridor from Super Corridor 2 Station to Malviya Nagar Chauraha Station. During this trial, he thoroughly inspected key stations, including Vijay Nagar, Meghdoot Garden, Bapat Square, Heera Nagar, Chandragupt Square and Malviya Nagar.
The inspection focused on areas like civil infrastructure, availability of escalators and lifts, entry-exit points, control rooms, ticketing areas and signalling systems.
A review meeting was later held at the Gandhi Nagar Metro Depot office, where Chaitanya instructed officials and contractors to ensure timely completion of all pending work. He emphasized that the general public must receive a timely, safe, eco-friendly and world-class urban transport .
