Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Just as a farmer of Bhaiskhedi, a desolate hamlet near Bhopal, entered his meadow to start about his daily affairs on April 2, 2020, he came across human skeletons and a pair of female sandals.
The news spread like a wildfire, and a large number of villagers rushed to the spot. They informed the police about the findings that sent chills down their spines.

The police formed a team and continued to search for evidence. Although the investigators knew it would be an arduous task to hit upon a clue, they did not give up.
The police then called all those who filed missing person cases to the Khajuri Sadak police station because the forensic test and the pair of sandals found on the spot confirmed that the skeletal remains were those of a woman. Yet none could identify the murdered woman on the grounds of the pair of sandals.
Finally, in charge of the Khajuri Sadak police station, LD Mishra found the knot in the cat’s cradle a month later. Mishra had learnt that a woman had gone missing from an area under the Kotwali police station in Sehore district in March 2020.
Mishra contacted the family of the missing woman murder mystery unfolded. The woman’s two children identified the pair of sandals as that of their 35-year-old mother and said she went missing on March 17, 2020.
A DNA report established the fact that the skeletons, too, belonged to the missing woman.
Whodunnit!
Once the first part of the tale concluded with the identification of the woman, the second part, a search for the murderers, began. The woman’s mobile phone was not available, but the police cobbled together her call records. In the process of sifting through the evidence, the police came to know she was a call girl who often visited Bhopal.
Additional deputy commissioner of police Shailendra Singh Chauhan, who was the superintendent of police (north) in 2020, said the police learnt that two youths, Iqbal, aka Negro, aged 26 years, and Farooq Khan, aged 22 years, had called the woman.
During the interrogation, they confessed to having polished off the woman.
Motive for murder
The criminals related the motive for the murder and how they had committed the crime. Both Iqbal and Farooq said they had picked up the woman on March 17 and had physical relations with her in the meadow.
The woman, not satisfied with the money they had given, threatened to implicate them in a rape case. The duo then throttled her. They did not know murder has a tongue and it speaks.
