Joint Pain at a Young Age: Nowadays, most people work continuously for 8 to 10 hours sitting on a chair in the office. This habit may be a part of the profession, but it can be very harmful for the body. Sitting for long hours can gradually become a danger signal for the spine. Sitting continuously deteriorates the posture of the body, muscles start weakening and pressure on the spine starts increasing.

If timely exercise, balanced diet, adequate sleep and active lifestyle are adopted, then joint pain can be prevented or reduced to a great extent. It is not right to blame only age, rather improving your lifestyle is the real cure.

Many people believe that joint pain is only a sign of old age, but this is not the case these days. Now people have started complaining of pain in knees, back, shoulders or joints of hands and feet at the age of 30 or 40. These changes are happening due to our modern lifestyle and some unhealthy habits, which have a direct impact on our bones and muscles.

sitting continuously

Dr. Salbh Singh at the Sports Injury Centre in Safdarjung Hospital says that a major reason for joint pain is sitting continuously. Nowadays most people work in the office sitting in the same position for hours, due to which the movement of the body has reduced a lot. This leads to problems like stiffness in the muscles, lack of blood circulation and gradually swelling or pain in the joints. The more you move your body, the more flexible and healthy it will be.

Wrong eating habits

The second main reason is bad eating habits. In today's time, junk food, fried items and sweets are consumed more, while foods rich in calcium, vitamin D, protein and magnesium which strengthen bones are consumed less. Due to the lack of these nutrients, bones gradually start weakening and joints start aching quickly.

Increasing weight

The third reason is increasing weight. When the body weight is high, its effect is first felt on the knees and back. The joints have to work harder to handle the body weight, due to which they get tired quickly and swelling or pain starts developing in them. This risk increases especially for those people whose lifestyle is not active.

Micro-trauma

Apart from this, doing the same activities repeatedly like using mobile, sitting in the same way, climbing stairs repeatedly or lifting heavy things can also affect the joints. These micro-traumas gradually worsen the condition of the joints.

Stress and lack of sleep

Stress and lack of sleep are also becoming a big factor. When you are constantly stressed, the hormones that increase inflammation in the body become active. This causes muscle strain and increases pain. At the same time, due to lack of good sleep, the body is not able to repair itself properly and the pain persists.

Hormonal changes

Hormonal changes are also a reason for women. After menopause, the estrogen hormone in the body decreases, due to which the strength of bones starts decreasing and joints weaken quickly. It is important to understand all these reasons so that we can be alert in time.
