1. Police conducted a crime scene reconstruction on Tuesday. During this time, all five accused in the case were arrested, one of whom was arrested with the help of his sister.

Rozina stated that she handed her brother over to the police so that the family would not have to face the shame of his actions. Police apprehended him under the Andal Bridge in Durgapur, where he was hiding.
4. India Today has obtained the victim's statement, which she gave to a doctor. She said, "I saw some people coming towards us. We ran towards the forest, but three men ran after us, grabbed me, and took me into the forest."
5. The victim further said, "They grabbed me from behind, snatched my phone, and asked me to call my friend. When he did not come, they forcibly threw me to the ground. When I shouted, they said that if I made noise, more people would come and do the same."
6. This 23-year-old student is from Jaleswar, Odisha. On Friday night, she was out to dinner with a friend when some men stopped her and molested her.
7. According to the West Bengal Police, all the accused will be taken to the crime scene for a scene reconstruction. The attack took place near the college gate, near the forest surrounding the Paranganj Kali Bari cremation ground. A senior official stated that the scene reconstruction is being conducted to corroborate the victim's statement and understand the sequence of events surrounding the attack.
8. The incident sparked outrage and political controversy in the state. The victim's father compared the situation in Bengal to the rule of Aurangzeb. He said, "My daughter's life comes first, her career comes second. I want to take her back to Odisha."
9. This reaction came after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's controversial statement that "female students should not go out late at night." Meanwhile, Governor CV Ananda Bose stressed the need for a second renaissance to ensure women's safety.
