Samsung suffers a major setback, Galaxy S25 Edge is not selling, and will not launch S26 Edge.

Samsung, the pioneer of ultra-thin smartphones, has suffered a major setback. Sales of its S25 Edge have not met expectations, and as a result, the company will discontinue this lineup.

Samsung pioneered the ultra-thin smartphone segment with the Galaxy S25 Edge. Companies like Tecno and Apple have since launched their own thin phones. However, Samsung has suffered a major setback with this phone, as sales are not meeting expectations. Consequently, Samsung has canceled plans to release the next-generation model, the S26 Edge. 

Samsung to discontinue Edge lineup.

According to Korean media outlet Newspim, Samsung will not launch the S26 Edge next year. This decision was made due to the poor sales of the S25 Edge. The company has also informed its employees that the Edge line is being discontinued. Production will cease once existing stock is sold. Given this experience, Samsung is unlikely to launch an ultra-slim phone in the near future.

Sales figures are not satisfactory.

According to reports, only 1.31 million units of the S25 Edge have been sold as of August this year. In comparison, the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra have sold 8.28 million, 5.05 million, and 12.18 million units, respectively. It's worth noting that the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra were launched in January, while the Edge model was launched in May.

This model will be launched in place of the S26 Edge.

Previously, there were reports that Samsung would launch the Edge model next year instead of the S26 Plus, but given the current situation, the S26 Plus has been confirmed to be in the lineup. Next year, the company will launch its flagship Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra models. The S26 Pro will replace the base model in the lineup.
