Marc Guehi would favour a move to Liverpool if he were to be sold by Crystal Palace - but they're yet to receive a bid. Guehi, 25, has entered the final year of his contract with Palace, who've stuck a £40million price tag on their defender.
Mirror Football reported last month that Liverpool were in pole position for Guehi but the opportunity to sign Newcastle striker Alexander Isak has become their focus. The Premier League champions have already spent nearly £300m this summer and would need to pay at least £125m for Isak.
That British-record deal going through could change the dynamics of Guehi's future. The Guardian report that Newcastle could revive their interest after making four bids rising to £70m last summer before ultimately admitting defeat.
It's added that the England international is happy at Palace and would be willing to see out the last 12 months of his contract before joining a club on a free transfer after the World Cup. That could play into Liverpool's hands, as centre-back Ibrahima Konate also sees his deal expire in June 2026 amid links of a move to Real Madrid.
Newcastle aren't the only club to have previously lodged a bid for Guehi. In January, Tottenham offered Palace £70m but also suffered rejection, as the former Chelsea prospect went on to captain the Eagles to FA Cup glory.

Sporting Lisbon star Ousmane Diomande and Inter Milan's Yann Aurel Bisseck have both been linked with moves to Selhurst Park as potential replacements for Guehi. But if it were up to Oliver Glasner, he'd keep his skipper for at least one more season amid an underwhelming summer transfer window.
During a recent interview with Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung, the Palace manager bemoaned their lack of activity in the market, having only spent £2m on a left-back and signing a backup goalkeeper on a free. "Even though all the players are still here, we haven't made the most of the transfer window so far," Glasner admitted.

"I was promised that we would be more active and bring in the new players earlier this year. As of now, I have 17 outfield players. I hope we don't lose any more. If that happens and we get four new ones on deadline day like last year, another false start is possible."
