VAR confirmed that a Niclas Fullkrug goal in West Ham's match with Chelsea was ruled out due to an offside in the build-up.
Fullkrug thought, briefly, that he had notched the third goal of an action-packed first half after sending a sweet strike beyond Robert Sanchez following a ricochet in the penalty area.
But Chelsea players protested immediately given they felt there was an offside in the build-up. And VAR, aided by automated offside technology, promptly confirmed that was indeed the case.
The Premier League confirmed the decision on X, writing in a post: "VAR checked the referee’s call of goal – and established that Todibo was in an offside position in the build-up and recommended that the goal was disallowed."

Unfortunately for West Ham, Chelsea took full advantage by going up the other and taking the lead just minutes later through Pedro Neto, who tucked home a centre from the impressive Joao Pedro.
And they found themselves 3-1 down in the 34th minute when Willian Estevao, the exciting teenager who was thrust into action minutes before the game when Cole Palmer 'felt something' in the warm up, teed up Enzo Fernandez at the back post.
Jamie Redknapp tore into West Ham's shoddy defending on Sky Sports during the broadcaster's half-time analysis. He singled out Aaron Wan-Bissaka for Chelsea's second goal, saying: "He [Wan-Bissaka] manages to get back in with Neto, he's in a good position and then he just sleeps. Why don't you watch him come in behind you? Do you think he's not going to make a run into the box? It's such poor play from his perspective.
"Graham Potter's going to get a load of stick, people going on about the way they're playing, but when your players are defending like this, you have no chance."
