In Rajnagar, in Rajasthan's Rajsamand district, the tattered and worn clothes worn by Ravana's effigy before Dussehra have sparked controversy. Traders in Rajnagar, Rajsamand, strongly protested the matter and expressed their displeasure at the disrespectful decoration of Ravana's effigy. Following the protests, Commissioner Brajesh Rai immediately arrived at the scene and had the effigy redecorated. Ravana has now been dressed in new, clean clothes, a move that has brought satisfaction among traders.

According to reports, a 51-foot-tall effigy of Ravana will be burned in Kankroli, Rajsamand, while a 35-foot-tall effigy will be burned in Dhoinda and Rajnagar. The Rajsamand Municipal Council is responsible for all these events. Municipal Council Commissioner Brajesh Rai stated that appropriate action will be taken against the contractor for dressing Ravana in torn, old clothes.

While Ravana Dahan ceremonies were held in various cities across the country, traders in Rajsamand protested the incident of Ravana being dressed in torn clothes. The incident became a topic of discussion throughout the area. However, timely action was taken to calm the situation.

People calmed down after immediate action

Taking cognizance of the traders' protest, Municipal Council Commissioner Brajesh Rai arrived at the fair grounds and vowed to take immediate action. Following this, Ravana was dressed in new clothes. Traders stated that the Municipal Council Commissioner had threatened action against those responsible for the negligence. They added that dressing Ravana's effigy in tattered and worn-out clothes was an insult.

Ravana effigy burning ceremonies were held in various cities across the district. Large numbers of people turned out to witness the burning. However, heavy rain in some areas dampened the enthusiasm.
