The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian Under-19 men's cricket team for its upcoming tour of Australia, scheduled for September 2025. The highly anticipated series will see India’s youth squad competing in three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two four-day matches against their Australian counterparts. This tour presents a significant opportunity for emerging talents to showcase their potential at the international level.
One of the standout names in the squad is 14-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, whose explosive performance during the recent England tour caught the attention of selectors and fans alike. His inclusion marks a major milestone in his young career, as he prepares to represent India on Australian soil. The Junior Cricket Committee has appointed Ayush Mhatre as the team’s captain, with Vihaan Malhotra serving as vice-captain.
In addition to Suryavanshi, the team includes promising players such as Rahul Kumar, Abhigyan Kundu, RS Ambareesh, and Kanishk Chauhan. The tour will kick off with the ODI series beginning on 21st September, followed by matches on 24th and 26th September. The red-ball contests will commence on 30th September and conclude on 10th October after two youth Test matches.
A total of 17 players have been selected for the series, with five others named as standby. This tour not only offers a competitive platform for India’s young cricketers but also reinforces the depth of talent rising through the country's cricketing ranks.
