Khurda: In tragic incident, a youth reportedly died during a physical fitness test for the recruitment of home guards in Khurda district of Odisha on Saturday.
The incident took place at the Taratua Reserve Police grounds in the district. The deceased, identified as Imadul Haque from Keranga area, was participating in the physical test when the mishap took place.
During the physical test, he participated in the 1600-meter running event. While running, Imadul suddenly fell ill and collapsed to the ground, sources said.
He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, where he was declared dead by doctors.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the candidate’s death. The post-mortem report is awaited to determine the exact cause of death.
