Our Yorkshire Farm and more recently, Our Farm Next Door star Amanda Owen has addressed the 'reality' of working with her ex-husband Clive Owen just weeks after the pair's new TV show was renewed for a second series.

The mum-of-nine rose to fame alongside ex Clive and their huge family on their Ravenseat farm in North Yorkshire on Channel 5 reality show Our Yorkshire Farm.

Last month, the pair's latest venture, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids was given the green light for two more series by Channel 4. It means the show, which follows the family's attempts to renovate a barn on the farm to create a permanent home, will be extended until at least series 4.

Speaking to Lorraine on ITV1 this week, Amanda opened up about her ex-husband Clive's mundane complaints to her, but stressed that the pair are 'just getting on with it' by working together despite their separation.

Amanda said: "He was on the phone this morning, he had fried eggs, in some yellow washing up liquid. So he was complaining that I shouldn't buy washing up liquid in yellow. Washing up liquid should only be green.

"Yeah so we are up against it, but in me, it's the idea that we're just getting on with it. There's plenty to do, plenty of space and a heap of things always on the go. And let's be honest, that's reality."

Amanda also addressed the way she appears outside of the farm, and the plans for the rest of the family both on and off camera.

She told Lorraine: "People will say, what's your intention? Is it for them all to stay on the farm in the countryside?

"They're all different characters. My idea with everything that we've done as a family is about taking opportunities and not being scared to try to push yourself forward. That's what I want for all the children."

Channel 4 said last month that it has been given a 'double series order' for two more instalments of the Owen clan's new show.

It said: "Wise Owl Films has been given a double series order to make two new series of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, following 'Yorkshire Shepherdess' Amanda Owen and her family as they continue to renovate a centuries-old derelict farmhouse into a modern home.

"In the third and fourth series of Our Farm Next Door, cameras follow the Owen family as - with the exterior of the house finally finished - they set to work on their huge interiors project, planning what will go where and how things might look, not to mention installing plumbing and running water.

"We also follow the day-to-day farming lives of Amanda, Clive and their nine rapidly-growing children in the remote Yorkshire Dales, as well as Amanda's project to delve into the fascinating history of the house they're renovating and its most famous resident, Swaledale map maker, Anthony Clarkson."

Amanda Owen said: "I am beyond delighted that we have been given the opportunity to showcase this unique and beautiful part of our British countryside and for people to join us on our exciting journey through the restoration of our farm next door. We're grateful for Channel 4's support and the effort and utter dedication of the film crew who have had to work in challenging weather conditions, coupled with the unimaginable chaos of both children and animals. This is a programme that I am seriously proud of."
