Cheshire Police has confirmed a body found on Monday was missing mum-of-three, Rachel Booth. A search team of divers and sniffer dogs had scoured the Barnton area of Northwich, Cheshire until recovering a body from a lake in Oakmere.
Rachel, 38, was last seen at around 3.50am on Saturday when she walked into a petrol garage five miles from her home after a late night run. Police believed she may have travelled to the Oakmere area of Delamere, where officers, underwater search teams and Cheshire Search and Rescue conducted inquiries.
Police confirmed on Monday (July 21) that a body had been found in a lake in Oakmere during the search.
The body has since been formally identified and police say they are now supporting Rachel's family.
Cheshire Police said: "A body found in a lake in Oakmere has been formally identified as that of Rachel Booth.
"Rachel's family continue to be supported by specialist officers from Cheshire Police and they ask for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time."
"We are liaising with the family to see if they wish to issue a tribute and any update will be supplied in due course."
Issac Carolan, 19, a worker at the petrol station were Rachel was last seen previously told The Sun: "I spoke to my colleague who had served her on Saturday morning. She bought milk and wine and jogged from 45 minutes away."
He added: "But it didn't seem weird, she didn't seem disturbed or flustered."
As police searched for Rachel, they had urged her to get in contact and "let us know you are OK", as per BBC News.
Prior to the body being formally identified, police said there weren't believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
A report will be prepared for the coroner, the force said at the time.
