As Britain becomes colder and rainier, it's only natural to start to dream about getaways to destinations with sunnier and warmer weather. However, this might often end up being an expensive and unachievable dream.
But what if you could enjoy these dreams in a sunny and dream like location, with return flights only costing you £27 per person?
Madeira is an archipelago situated in the North Atlantic Ocean, and is often referred to as Portugal's Island of Eternal Spring, due to its often 'perfect' weather conditions no matter at what time of year you want to visit.
While much of Europe is cooling down, Madeira enjoys a subtropical climate that keeps temperatures mild all year round. In early October, the island's average highs still hover around 25C before slipping slightly to 23C by the end of the month.
Nights are comfortable too, with lows rarely falling below 18C. That makes it warm enough for evening strolls along Funchal's waterfront or al fresco dinners in the island's many family-run restaurants.
Taking to Instagram, the account 'beautifuldestinations' wrote in its post caption: "Just a short flight from Lisbon, this subtropical island feels like it lives in permanent golden hour, warm, green, and blooming no matter the month."
The Instagram post in question contained a reel which showed off the incredible nature on the island, along with its green mountains and bright blue sea coast.
They went on to say: "It's the kind of place that's just as good for hiking mountain trails as it is for slow cliffside lunches (ideally with a glass of local Madeira wine)."
It then moved on to mention some of the many activities you can do, which included watching the sunrise above the clouds at Pico do Arieiro, swimming in lava pools, walking the trails and paths through the gorgeous nature. Or if you're wanting to stay and explore the local towns, you can also walk through Funchal's old town and try some local cuisine.
And it doesn't matter when you want to visit Maderia, as the weather stays warm and sunny throughout most parts of the year. While the winter months are mild, with temperatures averaging around 15-18C, the summer months are warmer, with averages around 21-25C. The island has a subtropical climate, which means sunshine is possible throughout the year.
People were left baffled by the video, with many viewers promising to visit the Maderia at some point in their lives.
"Going there just in a month - can't wait," one person wrote, while another user said: "The hiking and ending up above the clouds. the best part of travelling to Madeira!"
Another person shared: "Been there past May, it is beautiful."
