Laminate flooring is one of the most popular choices for homes. It looks smart, is easy to fit, and doesn't cost a fortune. But like any surface, it can lose its shine over time and begin to look tired. Many people turn to store-bought floor cleaners to solve the problem. They often work but can be pricey and filled with chemicals that some homeowners prefer to avoid.
On top of that, results don't always last long. That is why experts say you don't need to rely on products from the shops. Instead, you can make a simple polish at home that costs very little and uses safe ingredients. The added bonus is that homemade solutions can be adjusted to your own needs. You can change the strength, add fragrance if you like, and make enough for one use or a larger batch.

Experts at Easipay Carpets explained that one particular recipe can leave laminate shining for days.
It does not require any special tools - just a spray bottle, a cloth or mop, and a handful of everyday items from the kitchen.
The mixture combines half a cup of distilled white vinegar with half a cup of olive oil.
For fragrance, 10-20 drops of lemon essential oil can also be added. Once everything is in the bottle, it should be shaken well before use.
To apply it, lightly spray the solution onto laminate flooring. Immediately polish with a clean, dry microfiber cloth or mop, working in small sections until the surface gleams.
Experts say the vinegar lifts dirt and grime, the olive oil adds shine and nourishment, and the lemon oil leaves a fresh smell.
They recommend always cleaning floors first to remove dust and grit before polishing. It's also important never to soak laminate, as too much moisture can cause damage.
A damp mop or cloth is all that's needed, followed by gentle buffing for the best finish.
Easipay Carpets also advised testing the polish on a small hidden patch of flooring before using it across the room.
This helps make sure the mixture reacts well with your specific surface.
Other homemade recipes exist too. Some use just vinegar and water for everyday cleaning, while others add rubbing alcohol for a quick-drying shine. Baking soda paste can also be applied for spot-cleaning stains.
But the vinegar and olive oil polish stands out because of its extra glossy finish. According to the experts, it restores dull laminate and keeps it looking fresh for days at a time.
