Money expert Martin Lewis is urging holidaymakers to get up at 5.30am on Tuesday in order to save hundreds of pounds on Easyjet flights.
The discount airline is launching its flights and holiday packages for summer 2026 on Tuesday, July 22. Because the operator uses 'dynamic pricing', its flight prices are cheapest the moment they become available, because the prices go up as more people book. Therefore, the cheapest time to grab an Easyjet flight is the moment they go online on Tuesday, Martin explained, and the exact time you should log on to check is from 5.30am.
Martin Lewis said in a video posted to his Twitter: "Urgent heads up about potentially super cheap flights, dirt cheap flights for summer 2026.
"I know it's a long time away but this is important because it all happens next Tuesday, July 22.
"What's going to happen is it's one of Easyjet's quarterly flight launches, now we always try and find out when they're happening but we don't always get to but we know this time.
"The thing to understand about Easyjet is it has dynamic pricing. That means the price of your flight depends on the demand at the time. And often if you manage to book the flight the moment it's launched, then there isn't any demand and the price is rock bottom.
"So these flights are specifically for next summer, between June 15 2026 and September 13 2026.
"It won't tell us how many seats are available but last year at the same time it was 10 million UK flights."
Martin added that the time is kept a secret by Easyjet and it can change, but he recommended that people go online at 5.30am to get the best deals.
"As for when it's gonna launch. I dunno. Sometimes we've seen it at 5am or 6am, sometimes we've seen it at 8am.
"You're gonna hate me for this but if you really wanna bag the super cheap flights, you probably wanna be up at about 5.30am and refreshing to see if they're available as long as we don't crash its website when we do that.
"So how cheap can it be? Really cheap. Possibly the cheapest you'll ever get the flight. But this is not guaranteed, it is a case of trial and error."
Martin heard from a follower who in 2023 booked a flight at 6.15am for Christmas in Lanzarote, £215 cheaper than at 8am. Another from 2024 booked a £1,260 return to Portugal for a family of five, but 14 hours later the same booking was £1,700.
Martin Lewis added: "So no guarantees but hopefully next year I'll be reading out your success."
He added that the best thing to do now is to check what prices other airlines are selling for next summer at, so you have a benchmark for pricing and will be able to tell how good a deal you're getting.
