If you thought all of the price rises for the year were done, think again. Google has just confirmed that it is putting up the cost of its useful Nest Aware plan, and that means those who have the firm's cameras installed in their homes will soon need to pay a bigger fee. For those unaware, Nest Aware offers bonus extras, including storing camera recordings for up to a week. That means if someone rings the video doorbell or enters the home, owners will be able to go back in time to see what's happened.
Google's Nest cameras are pretty pointless without this subscription - which also includes face and sound detection - and soon it will cost more to use it. In fact, things are going up by £2 per month.
"Thank you for being a Nest Aware subscriber," Google said in an email seen by Express.co.uk .
"We wanted to let you know that the price of your Nest Aware subscription for Home will soon increase from £6 a month to £8 a month.
Google says that the changes will come into force from next month.
"This new price will go into effect on your first bill that occurs on or after 15 August 2025, or at the end of your promotional period, if you currently enjoy promotion pricing. Your Nest Aware subscription will continue at this new price and your current benefits will remain the same."
Here are all the benefits of Nest Aware.
• Event video history 30 days 60 days
• 24/7 video history
• Familiar face detection
• Sound events
• Emergency calling
• Push notifications
If you don't want to pay the new fee then you'll need to cancel your subscription before next month.
