Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s outfits at the Cannes Film Festival are always the talk of the town every year round, and this year was no different. The actress on her red carpet walk fashioned a simple and elegant Manish Malhotra saree and made it look regal. The public reaction to the outfit was almost immediate, as many fans poured their love. Many netizens online also took to social media platforms and shared how the actress’s look this year plays an ‘uncanny’ resemblance to her character ‘Paro’ from ‘Devdas’.

The classic white and handwoven added to the sleek finish the actress seemed to be going for this year. Every year the actress has managed to stun in outfits that go beyond the regular glitz and glam that is expected by all attendees every year.

This year’s fit, though, brought major fan reaction as netizens online called Aishwarya the ‘queen of Cannes’ and also shared how the actress embodied the energy of ‘Paro’, her character from one of her most famous films with world-renowned star Shah Rukh Khan.

Fans, Bollywood fan pages as well as fashion pages all praised the actress for her look. One such page, Diet Sabya, shared photos of the actress from her Cannes look while saying, “OH, SHE BROUGHT THE MARTINEZ TO A SCREECHING HALT LMAOOO. Not a soul blinked. Waiters dropped trays. Ivory and gold, sequins, diamonds and rubies, oh my!Her saree for this year’s Cannes featured ivory and gold detailing, along with a long train made from sheer material to add textures and layers to the overall look. As per Vogue, the outfit even featured sequin detailing on it as well to make the look a little extravagant. To add a unique touch to the saree, it featured a brocade and zari design embroidery over it, all of which was done in real chandi (silver).

While Aishwarya opted to keep the design of the saree as simple and sleek as possible, to balance the overall outfit, she managed to pair it up with rubies and diamonds. The actress wore 500 carats of Mozambique rubies, along with uncut diamonds as well. The whole setting was put up in an 18-carat gold setting, adding the extravagant touch needed to make the actress shine on the red carpet.
