Suniel Shetty has broken his silence on the shocking exit of veteran actor Paresh Rawal from ‘Hera Pheri 3’, revealing that Rawal has agreed to meet him and talk things over. The news comes amid a brewing controversy, with Akshay Kumar’s production house reportedly suing Paresh Rawal for ₹25 crore over breach of contract.
Speaking to E24, Suniel Shetty expressed his disbelief and emotional turmoil over the sudden development. “Jitne shocked aap hain, main hoon. Main baat nahi kar paya. Meri Paresh ji se baat hui ek second ke liye. Lekin Paresh ji ne kahan ki mil ke baat karenge,” Shetty said, revealing he hasn’t had a chance to speak in depth with Rawal yet, but the latter has indicated a willingness to discuss the matter in person.
“We Shot the Trailer… He Was So Charged”
The actor shared that the Hera Pheri 3 trailer has already been shot, and everything appeared to be on track. “Pata nahi kya hua. Warna Paresh ji aise hain nahi. Kabhi bhi public platform pe announce nahi karte,” Shetty said, pointing out that Rawal isn’t someone who typically makes public declarations about such exits. He emphasized the unity shared between himself, Rawal, and Akshay Kumar: “Main, Paresh ji, aur Akshay... bohot hi charged the for Hera Pheri.”
Deeply Personal for Suniel
In a candid confession, Suniel added that Hera Pheri, along with Welcome and Awara Pagal Deewana, were films that he felt passionately about. “Maine yahi socha tha ki aur kuch nahi karoonga... yeh sequels karoonga. But this is heartbreaking,” he shared.
Earlier, in an exclusive chat with ETimes, Shetty had admitted feeling “hurt” by the situation. He underscored the long-standing friendship between the trio and said, “Hera Pheri cannot happen without Paresh, without Raju, and Shyam.” Despite the legal tensions, Suniel is hopeful for reconciliation: “Even if the film doesn’t happen, I don’t want two friends to fall apart.”
