Chandigarh: Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the newly approved Rayat Bahra Professional University in Hoshiarpur , has praised the Punjab govt's decision to establish the institution. He stated that the self-financed university is a significant step toward providing high-quality education and boosting the region's overall development.
Bahra claimed that the university will enhance the skills and employability of students in Hoshiarpur and surrounding areas. He announced plans to introduce a range of new-age courses in collaboration with top multinational companies to increase students' job prospects.
A key focus of the university, according to Bahra, is its commitment to making students "employment ready" before they even graduate, which he believes will give them a strong advantage in securing placements.
The Punjab Assembly unanimously passed a legislation on Friday, granting university status to Rayat Bahra Professional University, Hoshiarpur and Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Janjheri (Mohali). With this legislation, the number of universities in the state has gone up to 19.
